Hi! I'm Philip Daunt. I am the owner of Strategic Loan Solutions. I have been practicing law as a small business and real estate attorney since 1980 and delivering mediation services on the Monterey Peninsula since 1993.  I like to think of myself as a Transformational Lawyer, an attorney who helps his clients to transform their legal problems into opportunities for personal growth and positive change. I call what I do a coach approach to the practice of law.

In the fall of 2007, my wife, Heidi, who owns a mortgage company, asked me to look into ways that I could help distressed homeowners to avoid foreclosure. We both knew that when a homeowner has a foreclosure on their record, it really harms their credit and makes getting back on their financial feet really difficult. So, I started to explore what I could do to help upside down homeowners. The solution that I found was to convince their mortgage holders that it would be in everybody's best interests to short sell the homeowner's property, rather than have the lender foreclose on the property and unnecessarily harm the homeowner's credit. Strategic Loan Solutions became the result of that exploration.

SLS closed its first short sale in January of 2008, and since then we have helped close to 400 distressed homeowners avoid the stigma of foreclosure by successfully closing short sales of their homes.
